Istilah " orang kulit berwarna " ( bahasa Inggris : person of color , people of color , persons of color ; terkadang disingkat POC ) [ 1 ] utamanya dipakai di Amerika Serikat untuk menyebut orang manapun yang bukan orang kulit putih . Istilah tersebut meliputi seluruh orang non-kulit putih, terutama dalam hal rasisme sistemik . [ 2 ] [ 3 ] Istilah tersebut juga dipakai dengan kategori suku bangsa kolektif lainnya seperti "komunitas kulit berwarna", "pria kulit berwarna", dan "wanita kulit berwarna". [ 4 ] Orang kulit berwarna awalnya setara dengan penggunaan istilah " ", tetapi pemakaian sebutan "colored" di Amerika Selatan secara bertahap ditolak untuk " negro ". [ 5 ]
